At UTSA, Michael teaches private lessons in percussion and drum set, co-directs the UTSA Percussion Ensemble, and has taught lecture classes in World Music and History of Rock and Roll. He is the director of the newly launched UTSA Percussion Camp, a "total percussion" camp open to students grades 6-12 held on the UTSA main campus. Michael has made numerous trips across the country for guest artist residencies and masterclasses. Among his travels, he has presented workshops at the Indiana University Summer Percussion Seminar, Percussion in the Valley Summer Camp, Northwestern University Summer Percussion Symposium, Baker University (Baldwin City, KS), University of Nebraska-Lincoln, The University of Tennessee-Knoxville and Texas Tech University to name a few.
